What to Expect on Your First Visit
Visiting a church for the first time can feel like a lot. At South Side, you’ll find friendly faces, a relaxed atmosphere, and space to belong—no dress code and no pressure.
We gather every Sunday evening for dinner at 5:00 PM followed by worship at 6:00 PM. You can sit back and observe or jump right in. Either way, you’ll be welcomed and valued.
Who We Are
We’re a new United Methodist faith community on the south side of Des Moines becoming a home for neighbors, families, and friends. Our heart is simple: experience God’s grace, build real relationships, and serve our neighborhood in practical ways.
Church + Community Center
South Side is more than a Sunday gathering. We’re creating a community hub—meals, conversations, learning, and support under one roof. This year we’re launching a Before & After School Program in our lower level to serve neighborhood families and help sustain our mission for the long haul.
